The full process

Day 1

Reach Out to Us

Start your journey by contacting OceanState Donor through our website or a call. We’re here to help you navigate your vehicle donation. Our team understands Rhode Island's local needs, and we’re excited to assist you in contributing to a better future for our neighbors. Let us know what you’d like to donate and we’ll get the ball rolling!

Day 2-3

Provide Vehicle Details

After your initial contact, we’ll ask for some details about your vehicle, such as its make, model, year, and condition. Don’t worry if it’s not in perfect shape; we accept a wide variety of vehicles in Rhode Island. This information helps us prepare for the next step, ensuring a smooth donation process tailored to your specific car.

Day 4

Schedule Pickup

With the vehicle information in hand, we’ll arrange a convenient pickup time for you. We work around your schedule, offering flexible pickup options throughout Rhode Island. Just let us know what works best for you, and we’ll make it happen. Your old car will be on its way to help fund local benefit research in no time!

Day 5

Pickup Day Arrives

On the scheduled day, our friendly team will arrive at your location to pick up your vehicle. We handle all the heavy lifting—literally! You’ll just need your keys and any necessary paperwork. Our local team members are proud to serve Rhode Islanders, making this day as easy and hassle-free as enjoying a clam cake at the beach.

Day 6-7

Transport Your Vehicle

Once picked up, your vehicle will be transported to a designated lot. Here, we assess its condition and determine whether it will be auctioned off or recycled. Rest assured, we prioritize environmentally-friendly practices for any vehicle that’s retired from the road. We’ve got Rhode Island’s best interests in mind, contributing to a sustainable future.

Day 8-10

Auction or Recycling

Your donated vehicle will either be auctioned to someone who can use it or recycled to extract valuable materials. The proceeds generated will directly fund our benefits-research services, allowing us to connect Rhode Islanders with essential assistance programs. Your vehicle is not just a donation; it’s a lifeline for those in need.

Day 11

Tax Receipt Issued

Once the process is complete, we’ll send you a tax receipt for your generous donation. This receipt will allow you to claim a tax deduction for your vehicle. It's our way of saying thank you for supporting OceanState Donor and helping local residents access crucial programs like RIte Care and LIHEAP.
